Design history

Thinking out of the box is part of who we are and we are proud to contribute to Danish design history.

Our tradition of working with pioneers in the design industry is both strong and long. We dare to challenge and surprise, because great design is all about moving forward and constantly experimenting.

Our design heritage emerged in 1966, when we launched the world's first designer toilet seat: Pressalit Comfort. This changed the industry's vision of shape and colour and set new standards for functional design.

Since our foundation, well-known designers and agencies from both home and abroad have sketched, drawn and fine-tuned their version of a genuine Pressalit toilet seat, including names such as Sigvard Bernadotte and Acton Bjørn, Luigi Colani, Louise Lepoix, Knud Holscher, Frog Design, Doodle artists Sune Ehlers and Jon Burgerman and many others.
